Peptide Reconstitution
A step-by-step guide to safely reconstituting lyophilised research peptides using bacteriostatic water.
Remove from Cold
Allow your lyophilised peptide vial to reach room temperature before opening. This prevents condensation from entering and degrading the compound.
Prepare Bac Water
Draw the required volume of bacteriostatic water into a sterile syringe. Use 1–2ml per vial as a standard starting point unless your protocol specifies otherwise.
Add Slowly
Inject the bacteriostatic water down the inside of the vial wall — never directly onto the lyophilised cake. Slow injection prevents foaming and peptide degradation.
Swirl, Don't Shake
Gently swirl the vial until the peptide fully dissolves. Never shake as this can break peptide bonds. Store reconstituted peptides at 2–8°C and use within 30 days.
Storage note: Lyophilised (freeze-dried) peptides should be stored at 2–8°C and kept away from light. Once reconstituted, use within 28–30 days and keep refrigerated at all times. For long-term storage, keep lyophilised and freeze at –20°C. Always use bacteriostatic water — not sterile water — to extend post-reconstitution stability. For research use only.
